 A bit about Jeremy...

Jeremy Geia is an Aboriginal artist from Cape York whose journey into the world of media began at the age of 13 selling newspapers in Adelaide for News Limited. After completing his High Schooling Jeremy studied and graduated from the Australian Film, TV &Radio School in Sydney.
In 1995 Jeremy Geia became a Cadet TVJournalist with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. During his time as Cadet Jeremy took out the Major Prize at the National Louis St Johnson Media Award for the best coverage of an Indigenous Issue (1996).
In 1999 Jeremy was recognised for his contribution to Indigenous Broadcasting and Media when he was named National Indigenous Youth of the Year in 1999.

More recently (2008) Jeremy Geia produced the ‘Postcards from Pormpuraaw’ Series which ran on the ABC’s Message Stick Program.

Jeremy's artwork hangs in some of Australia's finest galleries and he has been commisioned to produce paintings for many of Australia's largest companies.
When he’s not working in the media or painting, Jeremy co-ordinates the Nation’s largest Indigenous Cultural Event - the Laura Festival.
Mr. Geia has been working with the Cape York event that has more than 500 dancers & Artists on show and more than 5,000 visitors camping in the bush.
His ability to work with many diverse cultures and nations is arguably the best in Australia at this level.
