  • The Vault 40” Athena Drop Carve is a No Nonsense 9 ply Symmetrical longboard suitable for riders of all levels.
  • We have given the Athena a large 10” wide deck and a small amount of flex and combined it with a dropthrough design which gives you a lower centre of gravity for a more stable ride and making it easier to push and foot brake.
  • The huge concave in this board really lets you dig in your feet for those big controlled slides, bombing hills, drifting and high speed carving.

When i first recieved this board i was soo happy to finally have my hands on a drop through as i have beena top mount cruiser, with HUGGGE flex. My first ride on this board was very unusal as it was a massive difference from my old board. It was a bit heavier, longer and fully pact which took a while for me to get used to. I couldn't seem to get a slide out of this thing the way i used to on my cruiser. BUT........ when i wore the wheels in over a couple of days and really commited to the big slides i really got the knack of it. (Any one who would own a dropthrough before this board would have no problems what so ever). The board has a great concave to really get a good carve into those slides and the sturdiness of this board is amazing.... you never, and believe me when i say, you NEVER get wobbles on this board. The 83a wheels are perfect for this board although need a wear in to maximise the real potential you get out of this board. If you are having second thoughts about this board... DON'T. This is the best board in my opinion, and if u dont believe me, take a minute to browse the Skateboard Express teams set up... nearly all of them have the Athena.....Anyway in conclusion this board is great if u are willing to put in a tiny bit of practise to perfect the technique and sty
